Dave plays drums in Rampage. He started playing when he was 24, self taught. Voice lessons at 27. As Dave puts it, "When I was 24 I went to watch a band rehearse. They had a stand up singer, 2 guitar players, a bassist and a drum kit with no drummer. (the drummer didn't show up) They kept playing "Living After Midnight" by Judas Priest but it sounded empty without the drums so I volunteered myself for the task. I remember sitting behind the drums and keeping a simple "1,2,3,4" beat then a few months later I bought a used Tama Swingstar for 1000 dollars from an FBI agent. The guys in the band said "We didn't know you could play drums?". I said "Neither did I". Within 6 months I was playing in a garage band and within 2 years I was playing in a band called "Blue Rose" which featured a female singer. I learned how to do vocal harmonies in this band.
Over the next few years I sat in with several bands including an old timer's group called the Sundowners and a Tex-Mex band called Mary and the Marquis. I was kicked out of both bands because according to them I was "Too loud and too rock and roll".
